ABOVE THE FOLD  PMCA - Pasadena Museum of California Art, September 2011- January 2012

In this immersive multichannel-multimedia installation, Kritselis created a vast landscape/newscape of 366 issues of the Los Angeles Times he collected in the aftermath of September 11, 2001 to explore how the national media helped shaped people’s perceptions of that significant event. His installation was previously installed in 2002 at the Armory Center of the Arts exhibition space in Northwest Pasadena to observe the first anniversary of the NY attacks, and also in 2003 at Crazy Space Art Gallery in Santa Monica, California.  It was reimagined for the Pasadena Museum Of California Art to commemorate the tenth anniversary of 9/11/2001, pose new questions about the lingering effects of the attack on our national psyche, and take a closer look at the pivotal role of the national media played during the twelve months following the terrorist attack.

TRANSMISSIONS / PROMETHEUS RECONSTRUCTED Long Beach City College, February 11 - March 15, 2014

This painting/video installation is addressing the relevance of ancient myth in the 21st century. The exhibition examines the relationship between traditional linear story telling practices and - propelled by fragmentation - media driven information. The compelling question - “On Whose Authority” - remains in effect. The Past Is The New Present.
